CURATE THIS! – Beca Gallery

The Beca Gallery has decided to hand over its curatorial reins to the world public for its exhibition ‘FOUR’ opening August 2, 2008 in New Orleans, LA, USA. ‘CURATE THIS!’ and ‘FOUR’ will be an interesting experiment that many galleries wouldn’t risk embarking upon but this new artist-run gallery located in the heart of the New Orleans Warehouse Arts District is excited about the possibilities and hopes to make this unique event an annual international collaboration with the public .

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
To participate in the selection process, you must be 18 years of age.

Step 1: Visit http://www.becagallery.com/gallery/12562/CURATE%20THIS! beginning June 19th and ending at 8pm CST on June 21st. Here you may view a slide show of the works submitted (user controls are located at the bottom of each image that allow you to fast forward, pause or reverse).

Step 2: Select your top 10 works by emailing the title of each of your chosen works (in order of preference 1-10) to becagalleryadmin@gmail.com. Only one vote indicating 10 selections per person is allowed. In order to prevent multiple voting, you must supply your name and mailing address along with your vote. We respect multiple households but if we notice many names/emails associated with the same mailing address, those votes will not be included. Also, if your name is drawn to receive one of the complimentary ‘CURATE THIS!’ 2008 publications, this is the mailing address where it will be sent to so please do not list an address where you cannot receive mail. Your personal information will not be sold, rented or shared.

Step 3: The votes will then be tallied and the top 10 artists and their works will be announced first to the voters which took the time to participate and then to the public on June 23rd.

Step 4: The Top 10 artists selected and their works will be displayed online at www.becagallery.com. The next day on June 24th, the top 4 of these top 10 artists will be revealed using the same process as Step 3. The emails of those who participate in this event will not be sold, rented or shared and if you do not choose to receive further information from our gallery beyond Step 4, you will not receive additional emails from us.These top 4 artists will exhibit their works during ‘FOUR’: An Exhibition of International Emerging Contemporary Art at BECA gallery in New Orleans.
